Carolyn G. Key serves as the primary event planner for the IUPUI Center for Research and Learning and advises students on the various undergraduate-research opportunities available through the CRL, including the IUPUI Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP). She is completing her Master of Arts in education at Ball State University and holds a Bachelor of Arts summa cum laude from Georgia State University, with distinction in Spanish, having minored in Latin American Studies. Ms. Key did graduate work at Georgia State in translation and interpretation. In addition, she holds the Fundamentals of Supervision Certificate from the IUPUI Human Resources Administration and the IUPUI Community Learning Network’s Project Management Certificate. Avocationally, she is an avid genealogical researcher and a member of the Indiana Historical Society.
While in graduate school, Ms. Key worked two summers in the Office of the Dean, Purdue School of Engineering and Technology at IUPUI, and in 2006 began working full-time at the Center for Research and Learning, representing a promotion, succeeded by an additional advancement in 2008. Previously, she was Coordinator of the nascent Latin American Law Program and of the nationally recognized William S. and Christine S. Hall Center for Law and Health of the Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis. Also at the law school, she earlier assisted the director of the IUPUI Copyright Management Center. Before coming to IUPUI, Ms. Key served for five years as Scheduling Assistant in the Office of Jimmy Carter, The Carter Center, Inc., Atlanta, Georgia, following seven years in the Office of Financial Aid at Emory University in Atlanta.
