
Title: Director of Assessment
Elizabeth Rubens is currently the Director of Assessment for the Office for Professional Development. Formerly she served as Program Leader for Instructional Design and Development in the Center for Teaching and Learning. Originally trained as a teacher and an instructional designer, some of her past projects have included course design for the original Annenberg grant that launched the Community Learning Network, the UITS Learning Environments Team, co-chair of the Oncourse Implementation Team, the Flashlight Assessment Project, and initial planning and coordination of the Center for Teaching and Learning. Additionally, Elizabeth has consulted on distributed learning projects for more than thirteen years.
Current projects include assessment of OPD's services and programs, the ePort, the Indiana Project for Academic Success, research regarding exemplary distributed education programs, and the establishment of a database of good practice ideas and resources for all of the IU campuses. Elizabeth holds a master's degree in instructional technology from Wayne State University.
